Full Cycle Accountant

Location：Markham

Salary：$50K-60K/year

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all facets of the financial accounting systems for the company. Perform month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead cost allocations
• Oversee all accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly commissions and employee expenses
• Complete month-end closing journal entries, financial reports, payroll summaries, payroll management
• Assist in the completion annual or special reporting for shareholder requirement i.e. such as reporting for tax filing or monthly/quarterly board reports
• Adhere to and improve internal controls and financial procedures
• Complete government filings – i.e. EHT, HST, WSIB returns
• Review all cost drivers and look for means to improve them where appropriate
• Responsible for analysis in opportunities and deficiencies
• Provide administrative support as assigned
• Work with external accountants to complete year-end statements for tax purposes
• Financial modeling and analysis
• Adhoc administration and office management as required

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Completed post-secondary education in finance or accounting; CPA designation is a strong asset
• Able to compile a complete set of books and records on an accrual basis
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
• Experience with handling customs and shipping documentation is an asset
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong planning and analytical skills
• Organized and attentive to detail
• Experience in Cleantech or manufacturing sectors would be considered an asset
• A desire to be a part of renewable and environmentally aware business
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
