About the Role

We are looking for a Cloud Specialist to join the Tech team. As a Cloud Specialist, you will be responsible for service delivery, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and helping define all of this as immutable infrastructure-as-code in our AWS environment. Your contributions will help our team ensure we can provide our customers with incredible value and further our cause!

You Will:

  • Provide guidance on the full life cycle of solutions including tools, technologies and best practices for development, deployment and maintenance of AWS hosted services
  • Assuming responsibility for security, availability and other key attributes of cloud hosted environments
  • Thoroughly understand the products that are deployed within AWS, including the overall architecture and components
  • Manage application deployments using CI/CD for each cloud environment
  • Collaborate with software engineers to continuously improve cloud hosted products

Expectations

  • Relevant AWS certifications or progressing towards obtaining relevant AWS certifications
  • Strong expertise in public cloud environments, particularly AWS
  • Experience administering and managing on premise infrastructure will be considered advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with DevOps practices in Cloud environment.
  • Experience with medium or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with AWS (AWS Certification is preferred).
  • Knowledge about Kubernetes, docker, and containerization.
  • Experience with Hashicorp Terraform or similar technologies.
  • Basic experience in coding languages, such as Java, Python, Groovy, NodeJS, Golang or similar.
  • Hands-on experience in Jenkins, CircleCI, or other build pipeline tools.
  • A keen interest in information security and associated tooling.
  • A positive attitude, with the willingness to learn and collaborate.
